ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) exams enable students to earn college credit based on information attained in high school.áCredit varies on exam score and individual colleges. Traditionally, at MTHS the following exams are administered:áEnglish Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, U.S. History, World History, Spanish, German and Physics C. Tests in other subject areas are available upon request.á Cost:á Approximately $80 per exam.

Dual credit classes:
MTHS Classes can be taken for high school and ICC college credit. Not all colleges accept dual credits. Check with the college admissions office of the college you plan to attend to see if they accept dual credit courses.
Cost: ICC will bill you directly. MTHS does not handle fees

  • Senior English
    • Honors Senior English I
      • 1st semester can be taken for college credit, ICC Course ENGL #110
      • Must have a 18 or better on theáReading portion of the ACT or pass ICC's reading test with a 81.
    • Honors Senior English II
      • 2nd semester can be taken for college credit, ICC Course ENGL #111
      • Must successfully complete (Honors Senior English I) ICC English 110 with a grade of B or better.
  • Welding: Welding dual credit classes are arranged through Mr. Deiss, the MTHS welding teacher. áOne college credit each.

  • Students attend ICC typically 3hrs of the school day
  • Programs vary 1 semester to 2 years

Study a wide variety of health care careers through classroom work, labs, job shadowing and clinical experiences.á

Caterpillar's Student Trainee Program-NO ICC CREDIT
  • Caterpillar's Student Trainee Program is a paid internship in the areas of Accounting, Clerical, Engineering and Information Technology.
  • During the summer, students work eight hours per day, 40 hours per week.
  • When school begins in the fall, the work schedule is adjusted to 15 to 20 hours per week. Students work half days and attend school half days.
  • Students earn one high school vocational credit per semester.
  • Assignments are made on the basis of the student's interest, course of study and availability of openings.
  • Must be at least 16 yrs old and have 2.8/4.0.áááá
  • Application must be completed the prior school year.
  • Applications will be in the guidance office in the beginning of January and are due March 1.ááá á á áá
